Museums are not only for happiness
Most important, and this has to be included here, is, however, love. Love is the bearing element, the universal and radiant, that which characterizes all successful artistic efforts. Love for the material, for the work, and for the motive – is the prerequisite. Only love can “animate” and lift art – up to the level of what can be rightly designated with expressions like brilliant, magnificent, etc. Nothing other than love, devotion, leads to spirit, and in this sense, to the unparalleled.
By the way, I believe: the only thing that the academies owe the populations is to educate decorators.
