Finn Thybo Andersen on the auditorium at Herlev Hospital
The auditorium is centrally located, very close to the entrance hall. This is one of the great monumental spaces created by Poul Gernes, and it really makes an impact on you the moment you enter. It’s like a huge lung that you are moving into. The seats, which are placed in curved trajectories around the stage, and rising from like an amphitheatre, are red and purple, and there are red carpets and linoleum on the floors. The ceiling is white, and back and side walls are salmon pink. There is a warm atmosphere here, where is feels safe and good to be.
